        PDFizi is designed to work locally on your device. We do not collect, sell, or share your personal documents. This policy explains what limited data is processed by the app and by the third-party services it uses.
    

1. Information We Do Not Collect

PDFizi does not require you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, or the contents of your PDF files. Your documents, annotations, signatures, bookmarks, and reading progress remain on your device.

2. Information Processed On Your Device

To provide the app's features, PDFizi reads and processes the following data locally on your device. This data is not transmitted to our servers.

PDF files and images — so you can view, search, annotate, merge, split, compress, convert, lock, unlock, or rearrange pages.
PDF metadata (file name, size, modification date, page count, cover thumbnail) — cached in a local Room database to power the file list, search, sort, and favorites.
Annotations, bookmarks, signatures, and stickers you create — stored locally so they can be reopened and saved back into your PDF.
App settings (theme, language, default reader mode, keep-screen-on) — stored locally in app preferences.
Camera input — used only while scanning a document; scanned frames are processed on-device by ML Kit Document Scanner and saved as a PDF you control.

3. Permissions We Request

Storage / All Files Access (READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE on Android 10 and below, MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE on Android 11+) — required to scan, open, and save PDF files across your device storage.
Camera — used only for the "Scan to PDF" feature to capture document pages.
Internet / Network State — used to load advertisements and, if you tap the translate action, to open your installed Google Translate app or browser.

You can revoke these permissions at any time in your device's Settings. Some features will not work without them.

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 Google AdMob (advertising)

PDFizi displays banner and native advertisements through Google AdMob to keep the app free. AdMob may collect and process certain data, including your device advertising identifier, IP address, coarse location, and non-personalized usage signals, in order to serve and measure ads.

On Android 13+, you can reset or delete your Advertising ID in Settings → Privacy → Ads.

4.2 Google ML Kit Document Scanner

The Scan to PDF feature uses Google ML Kit's on-device document scanner. Document frames are processed locally on your device and are not uploaded to Google by PDFizi.

4.3 Google Translate (optional)

When you select text and tap "Translate," PDFizi sends only that selected text to your installed Google Translate app or to a Google Translate web URL. We do not send any other content. Google's handling of that text is governed by Google's privacy policy.

4.4 Google Play Services

The app relies on Google Play Services for ad delivery and ML Kit functionality. Data processed by Google is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

5. Children's Privacy

PDFizi is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information through the app, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

6. Data Retention

All app data (cached PDF metadata, annotations, bookmarks, signatures, preferences) is stored on your device and is retained until you delete it from within the app or uninstall PDFizi. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.

7. Data Security

Because your documents and annotations are stored on your device, their security depends on your device's security (screen lock, encryption, OS updates). When you use the "Lock PDF" feature, password protection is applied to the PDF file itself; we do not have access to your passwords and cannot recover them if lost.

8. Your Choices and Rights

You can revoke Storage or Camera permissions at any time in your device Settings.
You can clear app data or uninstall the app to delete locally stored information.
You can opt out of personalized ads via your device's Ads settings or the AdMob opt-out links above.
If you are in the EEA, UK, California, or another jurisdiction with data protection laws, you may have rights of access, deletion, or objection regarding any personal data processed about you. You can exercise these rights by contacting us at the email below.

9. International Transfers

Because advertising and Google services operate globally, limited data processed by Google (such as ad identifiers) may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Such transfers are governed by the applicable third party's privacy policy and safeguards.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you inside the app. Continued use of PDFizi after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
