Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how CalcSafe ("we", "our", or "the App") collects, uses, and protects your information. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Data Stored Locally on Your Device
CalcSafe is designed as a privacy-first application. The following data is created and stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted to our servers:
- Photos and Videos: Media files you import or capture within the vault are encrypted and stored on your device.
- Notes: Any notes you create are stored locally.
- Passwords and PINs: Your vault password is encrypted and stored on your device. We do not have access to your password and cannot recover it.
- Intruder Selfies: If you enable the break-in alert feature, the App may capture a photo using the front camera when an incorrect password is entered. These photos are stored locally on your device only.
- App Preferences: Settings such as theme color, language preference, and security options are stored locally.
Important: We do not have access to any of your vault content. All media, notes, and passwords remain on your device and are never uploaded to any server.
1.2 Data Collected by Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services that may collect certain data:
- Google AdMob: We display advertisements to support the free version of the App. AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and usage data to serve relevant ads. Please refer to Google's Privacy Policy for details.
- Firebase: We use Firebase for app configuration and performance monitoring. Firebase may collect device information, app usage data, and crash reports. See Firebase Privacy Policy.
- Google User Messaging Platform (UMP): Used to manage ad consent preferences in compliance with applicable regulations.
2. Device Permissions
The App requests the following permissions, which are used solely for the purposes described:
- Camera: To capture photos directly into the secure vault and for the optional intruder detection feature.
- Photo Library / Storage: To import photos and videos into the vault and to save files from the vault to your device when you choose to export them.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the core vault functionality — securely storing and organizing your private media and notes.
- To authenticate you via PIN, password
- To display advertisements through Google AdMob.
- To improve app stability and performance through anonymized analytics.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal vault content with any third parties. The only data shared with third parties is the information collected by our advertising and analytics partners (Google AdMob and Firebase) as described in Section 1.2.
5. Data Security
We take the security of your data seriously:
- Vault content is encrypted using industry-standard encryption algorithms.
- Your password is stored in encrypted form and cannot be retrieved by anyone, including us.
- Temporary files are automatically cleaned up when the App is locked or closed.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
Since all vault data is stored locally on your device:
- You can delete any stored photos, videos, or notes at any time from within the App.
- Deleted items are moved to the Recycle Bin, where you can permanently delete or restore them.
- Uninstalling the App will remove all locally stored data permanently.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

When you first use the App, you will be presented with a consent dialog for personalized advertising. You may:
- Choose to receive personalized or non-personalized ads.
